Clap Back Club: Vigil Art

EXHIBITION

ABOUT

One year from Sarah Everard.

One year from the brutal murder at the hands of a met police officer.

One year since grieving women were met with violence.

Vigil Art is about taking back space, offering an environment for people to visit, share and express themselves in the continuing fight against VAWG.

Having had to remove the signs from the original vigil site due to vandalism and aggression, we wanted to create a space for them to be viewed once again. A space for the site to exist again and continue to make a statement.

Created out of the original protest signs, letters, poems and artworks displayed at the Brighton Sarah Everard vigil site, this interactive exhibition will offer a space for you to be angry, to grieve, to celebrate and to remember.

There will be opportunities to continue to contribute to the growing outpouring of love, sadness and anger that the vigil originally created. And the organisers maintain wholeheartedly that the exhibition is an inclusive space where everyone is welcome.
