Phoenix Art Space is centrally located between St Peter’s Church and the Level, and only a 10 minute walk from Brighton Station.

Our large, airy, light building has a range of creative spaces suitable for exhibitions, events, workshops, and meetings.

Our year-round programme of exhibitions, vibrant café and helpful team form a welcoming and inspiring environment for coming together, sharing ideas, and creating new things.

All our spaces are on the ground floor and are fully accessible via a ramp. There is an accessible toilet on the same floor. Contact our Operations Coordinator for more information: events@phoenixartspace.org

Workshop Rooms

We have two workshop rooms along our ground floor corridor, the White and Red room. Both have large windows down one side, and are similar in size.

 

These are great spaces for getting messy, painting and making. These rooms are used for our course programme, and can also be hired for independent creative use.

WHITE ROOM​

Ideal for: Workshops, rehearsals, team training, activity days, group making.

Dimensions: 8m x 6.5m
Capacity: 50 standing / 40 seated cinema style
Facilities: Screen, chairs & tables, sink, black-out blinds.

Day Rate (Mon – Fri 9am – 5pm): £175
Hourly Rate (Mon – Fri 9am – 5pm): £30

RED ROOM​

Ideal for: Workshops, team training, activity days, group making.

Capacity: 12 -15 max around central table
Facilities: Chairs & tables, sink

This is our clean space for exhibitions, digital projects, pop-ups, screenings, seminars, training days and organisational groups.

Window Gallery

This ground-floor corridor connects the Main Gallery and the Cafe, offering a light-filled and accessible space to exhibit your artworks. The Window Gallery can be seen from the street outside, and because of its connection with the Cafe is seen daily by large numbers of the general public.

The Main Gallery

Our Main Gallery offers a large exhibition space in the centre of Brighton and is used regularly for a host of exhibitions.

MAIN GALLERY FOR EXHIBITIONS​

The Main Gallery exhibition programme is developed in partnership with curators and partner organisations within our network.

We are open to hearing about ideas for exhibitions in this space. Our exhibition programme does not receive regular funding, so all activities in this space need to have the necessary funds in place.

Café

Our licensed café is a great space for intimate events, acoustic sets, spoken word events or creative meet-ups.

This space is managed by our partners at Canvas Coffee Company.

Kiln Hire

We have a number of ceramicists on site and our kiln room supports their practice. We do also offer a kiln-firing service for artists and makers in the wider community.

* Our kiln is currently awaiting repair – updates will be posted here as soon as possible.
