SPOTLIGHT is the regular series in which Phoenix artists showcase their work and artistic practice.
Both artists will be talking about their recent collaboration, an Arts Council-supported site-specific installation/performance project, which saw them working with a poet and composer to re-imagine the story of the Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen.
Wendy is a visual artist who works with photography and video. Her work draws broadly on the biographical aspects of landscape, exploring themes around the intersection of place with memory and myth. In 2017 Wendy took part in an artist’s residency on a remote island in the Norwegian Arctic Circle, which inspired a series of video projections for her most recent project.
Dagmara’s work exploits the narrative potential of humble and everyday materials and processes to create site-specific art installations, sculptures, paintings and moving image.
