David Harkins makes paintings that hover between figuration and abstraction. They provide suggestions of an ongoing narrative whereby the artist is reflecting ‘upon the moth eaten tapestry of life’. David exhibits with Candida Stevens Gallery in Chichester and was a featured artist in the ING Discerning Eye exhibition in 2016 and 2017.
Mick Jackson is a writer. His first novel, The Underground Man, about a Victorian eccentric, was shortlisted for the Booker Prize. His other novels and short stories have also tended to focus on characters on the margins, blended with elements of folklore. He has been writer-in-residence at the Science Museum and the Booth Museum of Natural History. More recently he has written his first books for children.
