Our graphic novels tutor Ottilie Hainsworth is delighted to be able to offer you an opportunity to join her class online! In this supportive and exciting class Ottilie will guide students through an exploration of picture-storytelling inspired by graphic novels, visual diaries and reportage. You will work in a sketchbook on weekly drawing and writing tasks designed to develop skills such as character development, gathering visual research and mining stories from your own life, memories and imagination. We hope that you will build up a vibrant sketchbook full of your own ideas and stories by the end of the course. Along with your fellow students you will experience a fantastic way of enjoying a creative activity with limited materials whilst staying at home.
Suitable for beginners as well as anyone who wishes to work on a personal project at home with support from the tutor.
The course will be delivered using Zoom, Whatsapp and email. Ottilie will speak to the whole class via a group chat on Zoom and give one to one feedback on work in progress or finished pieces via email. You can also send images of your work to the group via Whatsapp and receive feedback from fellow students. This creates a virtual experience very similar to that of an in-person creative class.
Once signed up, you will be added to the Zoom group chat and Ottilie will guide you from there.
