Saturday 3rd February
Making Matters is a day for makers, to enjoy each other’s company doing something they are comfortable with and great at: Making!
The day sets out to create a club ethos amongst the participants, mine the club for its own resources and share them with each other. Making Matters will create a local group which can support and help each other and those in the extended community to thrive. It will provide a platform to engage with the local area, with potential new customers which advocates through an evening ‘Meet the Maker’ element where local galleries and organisations will be invited.
To become the seed of new collaborations and facilitate the continuance of beautiful creations. Create a safe and supportive environment which is less about us telling you what to do, but providing the catalyst and support to realize your collective capabilities and provide a means of sustaining that in a useful way. No death by Powerpoint or keynote speakers.
At the end of Making Matters it is hoped that people will have had fun, will be re-energized, will have new ideas to pursue, time to reflect, new contacts and leads to follow up on, played with new materials and forgotten ones, sold some work, planned some new work, made productive friends and felt valued and celebrated.
