Phoenix Art Space. Green Room.
2 - 10 May 2020
Saturday 2 May 18.00 - 20.00
Wednesdays - Sundays 11.00 - 17.00
A row of terraced houses used to stand where Phoenix Art Space is now. In the Sixties, they were bought and demolished to make way for office space. Apart from one. Harriet Silvester – who lived in the middle – refused to move out of her home.
An immersive exhibition taking place in the exact space where her house once stood, HOME presents fascinating, heartbreaking and uplifting stories of ordinary people. Museum of Ordinary People (MOOP) and Mnemoscene have collaborated with members of the public, who have collections of everyday objects, photos and documents they wish to explore to tell someone's story. Through visual arts, curation and mixed reality technology, HOME will showcase emotive, untold narratives that chronicle real people’s lives.
