All Levels Printmaking

Rachel Cohen
£220

‘This 10 week course introduces three types of monoprinting (direct, subtraction and object methods), and then relief and intaglio printing techniques using simple and recycled materials such as lino, card and plastic. You will work with water based, non toxic inks, various papers and collage techniques. You will use our printing press but some of the techniques need no specialist equipment so you can continue working with them outside the course.

Suitable for all levels including beginners, no experience or art training is needed. Returning students or others familiar with the techniques are welcome, and may work on their own projects or try more advanced techniques with guidance and advice from the tutor as needed.

Student comment about the tutor: ‘It’s a wonderful class, it has inspired me to start doing my art work at home again. Rachel is an inspiring teacher. We’ve explored so many different techniques, some new to me. I like it that it can be challenging (in a positive way) and that Rachel introduces artists to illustrate the sessions. She also encourages the students to look at each other’s work and to discuss our approaches and feelings. I look forward to being in the studio!’
