Willow Platter and Stars

Learn how to make a platter to serve bread or fruit on your dining table. You will also have the opportunity to weave with willow and create festive stars to decorate your home in the run up to Christmas. We will be using soaked farmed willow from Somerset.

Crafts using your hands can be a therapeutic and an enjoyable experience. Make your very own handmade items to give as gifts or keep for your home.

This course is suitable for all levels including beginners.

Sarah Gardner studied textiles design at Buckinghamshire University and went onto to work as an art and design technician/photographer and teacher. She has has been practicing basketry techniques, mainly with willow, flax and hedgerow materials for a number of years. Sarah helps to run the local leather accessories brand, Wolfram Lohr. She promotes leather craft in the craft and trade sector and has been a part of the Brighton Open Houses showing her basketry. Sarah has collaborated with artists on a number of exhibitions and projects including weaving fences.
