Pottery: Hand-Building Tableware

Annie Lyle
£80

On this course you will learn different hand building techniques to make tableware from clay. The tutor, Annie Lyle, is a professional ceramic artist who specialises in vessels, plates and bowls. On this day you can learn the basics of how to make these functional objects as well as plates, mugs, cups, jars and others that you may want to have a fine art twist.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve never made anything before or you’re an experienced maker, the facilities are here with plenty of room for creative expression, guided demonstrations and kind encouragement.

We will use high quality clay and the finished pieces will be fired here at Phoenix Art Space.

The course is suitable for all levels including beginners, no experience necessary.

White Room, Phoenix Art Space

All tools and materials will be provided but please bring an apron or clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Please note: your work will be fired after the course finishes and will be available for you to come and collect at a later date.

Annie Lyle: I’m an artist specialising in ceramics with eight years experience in the industry. I’ve been teaching for three years in workshop and class environments. I make artwork everyday and I’m dedicated to share the joy I feel making it. I truly believe that everyone is an artist with their own unique gifts. Although, not everyone has had the advantage of being shown or told how to explore the creativity within themselves. This is what has led me to where I am now. I strive to help people express themselves creatively, to give positive feedback and to show people that we really are creative in our own unique ways.
