Intermediate Abstract Botanical Ceramics & Sculpture Weekend
Working with clay, you will learn how to translate botanical forms into an expressive, abstract ceramic sculpture. You will be guided through handling clay and how to use it to reflect nature in an expressive way. Different types of flora, from pine cones to seasonal flowers, exotic and native fruits will be used as inspiration. This is not a figurative course, instead you will be encouraged to use your imagination to create something abstract yet inspired by nature.
Being open to creativity is all you need as this course will provide you with the ability to express yourself and imaginatively experiment with clay. By the end of the course you will have a unique, creative ceramic piece or sculpture to take home.
This course is particularly suited to students who have some experience with clay or have already completed a course with Zoe.
Most materials will be provided but please bring the following:
- A4/A3 sketchbook, pens and pencils.
Please note: your work will be fired after the course finishes and will be available for you to come and collect the following weekend.
Zoe Clare, an emerging artist, creates porcelain sculptures by commission, has work in private collections around the globe, exhibits internationally and has a B.A Hons in Ceramic Design from Central Saint Martins. Her work expresses botanical life form and how nature reflects human tendencies in an abstract way.
