In this supportive and exciting class we will focus on picture-storytelling inspired by graphic novels, visual diaries and reportage.
Suitable for all levels including beginners.
You will work in a sketchbook on weekly drawing and writing tasks designed to develop skills such as character development, gathering visual research and mining stories from your own life, memories and imagination. We will work on location in interesting local places, and you will produce a vibrant sketchbook full of ideas and stories.
Basic materials including a sketchbook will be provided, but students are encouraged to bring additional art materials if they wish.
Ottilie graduated from Glasgow School of Art and gained an MA RCA in illustration in 1994. She has taught drawing in various forms to adults and children for many years in different places including Evolution Arts, Glasgow School of Art and Phoenix Brighton. She enjoys creating comics about her every day life, and her work is included in “Brighton-The Graphic Novel”. Ottilie’s first graphic novel “Talking to Gina” was published by Myriad Editions in September 2017.
