Experimental Drawing

Rachel Cohen
£185

This course invites students to explore a wide range of materials and approaches for drawing. We will work expressively and playfully with different drawing tools/materials including pencils, charcoal, rubbers, inks, felt pens, collage and wire. Working from observation we will use different strategies that focus on training the eyes to see in new ways, considering composition, line, tone, proportion, perspective and colour. We will look to artists both current and historic for inspiration. For two sessions we will go out of the studio and draw on location, either indoors or outdoors depending on the weather.

Suitable for all levels including beginners.

Artworks by previous course attendees.

White Room, Phoenix Art Space

Some materials are provided and a list of suggested materials to buy is given out at the first session.
