Illustration Intensive

A practical and informative intensive summer school run by an illustrator with twenty years experience. For artists who would like to find out more about the various fields of illustration such as magazine, poster, greetings card, advertising and children's books. Through series of self-generated projects students receive practical feedback on their artwork. Sessions will cover how to get commissions, find an agent and focusing your work for freelance illustration.
Materials
• Bring a selection of your favourite materials (i.e. paints, brushes, pencils, collage tools etc)
Chris Gilvan-Cartwright studied painting and illustration at Central St Martins and has an MA in Fine Art from the University of Brighton. He exhibits regularly with three London galleries, as well as internationally. He is a well-known illustrator, with commissions including the Sunday Times, Penguin Books, the logo for the BBC Proms, and over twenty children's books.
