ABOUT

Phoenix Art Space  and Urbanflo Creative proudly present the inaugural Brighton exhibition featuring the stunning, provocative art of multi award-winning international artist, curator and researcher Alberta Whittle.

Living and working between Barbados, Scotland and South Africa, Alberta’s creative practice is informed by diasporic conversations and motivated by the desire to work collectively towards radical self-love, through film, sculpture, print, installation and performance.

This unique collection of recent work, curated by Jenni Lewin-Turner, explores very timely themes relating to personal healing and the cultivation of hope in hostile environments.

As part of the Culture Connex programme celebrating our shared heritage and global connectivity, the exhibition will be virtually linked to partner gallery The Brighton Storeroom, based at Brighton Plantation in Barbados.

Featured as part of Brighton Festival.
Join us for the preview on Friday 29 April, 18.00 – 20.00.
