ARTIST IN RESIDENCE STEFAN HOFFMANN

Special activities:
ARTIST TALK
MEET THE ARTIST, GET THE T-SHIRT

Stefan HoffmannPrintmaker Stefan Hoffmann from The Netherlands will be offering two special events at Phoenix Brighton as part of his residency linked to the ‘Hot Plate’ international printmaking exhibition in the gallery (see below).

Over the course of his residency at Phoenix, Hoffmann has been creating a window/wall printing piece for the south gallery which visitors will be able to observe as it develops. Drawing upon the imagery and current concerns around surveillance cameras, security and privacy, his work at Phoenix highlights some of these issues in a playful and visually arresting way.

Further information about the artist and his work can be found at www.stefanhoffmann.nl

ARTIST TALK: Wednesday, 4 August, 7 pm. Hoffmann discusses his work and shows video footage from previous projects. FREE

MEET THE ARTIST, GET THE T-SHIRT: Saturday 7 August. Drop in any time between 11 am & 3 pm. To conclude his residency, Hoffmann will be working in the gallery and will print an image onto visitors’ clothing. Bring along a t-shirt or other article of clothing. Cotton works best, as well as a printing surface (ie no pockets or protrusions to print over.) FREE.
