Introduction to Printmaking
with Rachel Cohen
This eight-week course begins with several types of monoprinting, then introduces intaglio and relief printing techniques using simple materials such as lino, card and plastic. You will learn to use a printing press but most of the techniques need no specialist equipment you can continue working with them outside the course. Suitable for all levels. Basic materials are provided.
Rachel Cohen studied Art History at Sussex University and Fine Art at Brighton. She works with drawing and painting, photography, animation and site-specific installation. She organises workshops and courses and residencies involving public participation. Local projects include Bookmarks at Jubilee Library, and Chinese Whispers, a drawing experiment in collaboration with scientists at The University of Sussex. www.rachelcohen.co.uk
