Video Art from Found Footage: Recycling YouTube

with Alvaro Collar Alvaro-Collar2

Working with international video artist Alvaro Collar, this workshop takes a very practical approach to the development of video-art pieces made by using existing videos online. You will learn how to use free editing programs and develop your own piece of video art. Please bring your own wireless laptop if possible.

Alvaro Collar received his BA in Media Studies from Complutense University of Madrid. A successful video artist, he is the creator of pieces such as Onirica (2008) and The Fifth Room (2005) which won the Minute Movie Cup and were selected to represent Spain at the UNICA World Minute Movie Cup 2009 and 2006 or Centrifuge (2007) which won the First MovilFilmFest Best Original Idea prize. He has been teaching on video art in both British and Spanish film schools, art galleries and art centres.
