Pre-foundation Studies Course
with Rachel Cohen and Dinah Kelly
A ten-week course for students wishing to compile a portfolio for college applications or with some experience. This course offers a project that enables students to develop their own interests and respond to a theme in a supportive environment. Sessions include practical work, group discussions and history of art.
Some materials are included and a materials list is provided at the first session.
Rachel Cohen studied Art History at Sussex University and Fine Art at Brighton. She works with drawing and painting, photography, animation and site-specific installation. She organises workshops and courses and residencies involving public participation. Local projects include Bookmarks at Jubilee Library, and Chinese Whispers, a drawing experiment in collaboration with scientists at The University of Sussex. www.rachelcohen.co.uk
Dinah Kelly received her BA in fine art from Ruskin School of Drawing. A studio member of Phoenix, her work is influenced by Islamic art and architecture. She is an artist educator currently working with Victoria and Albert Museum, Courtauld Institute, Pallant House, and Orleans House Gallery.
