Dave Stephens' new sculptural work has a preoccupation with the traces that humanity leaves behind unwittingly, and how nature inhabits these. How a bottle recovered from a sunken ship has often been added to by nature so that not only is it a record of the original purpose but has also become a clinging point for sea creatures. The form and structure of the object acquires a multilayered meaning.
