I am one of the founder trustees and have been involved with Phoenix for many years having particular responsibility for staffing and related issues. I feel great loyalty and commitment to Phoenix and am very proud of its achievements.I have a background in art and design and went to Central Foundation Art School in the late 60s. After leaving, I worked in a number studios doing graphics and textile design including contracts in New York and Amsterdam. I eventually took a B.Ed course at Goldsmiths' College specialising in secondary education in Design & Technology and have been teaching one way or another ever since leaving in 1980.
For the past 15 years I have been running Design & Technology departments in London and, more recently, Brighton. I am involved with design research projects run by Goldmiths' College and regularly contribute to the Times Education Supplement. In addition I have been (and continue to be) involved in co-ordinating a range of art/design education projects involving the community.
